push ups and sit ups, yuck!

this week i've been getting up early with my husband so that i can have some alone time with myself for stuff like reading, blogging, posting pictures, and possibly push ups and sit ups.  i personally hate push ups, and sit ups seem useless to me especially if you're overweight.  oh, did i mention i hate performing both of them?  well i guess i can muster up the strength to do some in the next week, or so.  today i'm not sure when i'll run, but my sister and i are going on a three mile walk today.  and i went to the gym last night, that was great, i love lifting weights.

I am with you when it comes to sit ups & push ups... it takes like a month of doing them to notice they're working. I can only do push ups on my knees but i hold the postion on my hands and feet too because supposedly it builds strength. Someday i will do a full push up! : )

Hey Diana!! It is always nice to hear about friends taking care of themselves... especially friends with kids. Remember that when running, it is better to pace yourself and jog for miles rather than sprint for a block. This is analagous to exercise as a whole. Start of slow and steady, with a goal of exercising consistently, day to day. As you start to feel more fit, push yourself. This is much better than deciding that you want to exercise and doing too much (ie running then going to the gym on the same day) and getting hurt or burnt-out quickly. Good luck!!
