this is my year
this might be my year. one of the reasons i'm going to try to blog more is my big brother Jesse. he leaves a comment almost after every post i do and it's usually something like "this is a waist land" so i guess i'm not writing enough for some people. maybe i should ignore my kids more so people can read about what's going on in my life more frequently. just kidding. well me and my family have just moved into a new place. we have been here for just a week and a half and out of those eleven days i have walked eight of those days over two miles with the kids. there are three parks a mile away from our place now so i have been taking the kids to the park almost every day. and this week i decided that i will run to and from the park with the kids to get a short run in every day. i went this past monday but not tuesday, but i still went on a short walk to target (on tuesday). my goal has been to walk everywhere, and i am very proud of my accomplishments. i also am trying, as of today, to write down everything i eat. i am going to try to be real strong for three weeks and see if i can create a new habit.

the day before the big day
so i lied and didn't even write one thing during christmas break. but tomorrow is my first official half marathon. the hubby was sewing today to have our new stroller up and running, me and my son got super cool super short haircuts (thank you lice), and my running shorts are in the dryer. tomorrow is the Carlsbad half marathon and i'm in wave 6 which is not the last wave so i'm not the slowest runner. pretty pumped about that. more later

13.1
i haven't posted anything in months and people keep asking me about it so i finally decided to update. it's just been hard updating with my kids napping at different times and lately when the first nap happens i end up going on my run. well i am officially running a half marathon at the end of January. we moved a couple of months ago and i started training for my half. i have lost nine pounds since we moved, i'm thinking it's from all of the running i've been doing. i finally last week started to journal all that i eat, i think that's been good for losing weight. i've heard that it doubles the amount of weight you lose as apposed to people that don't log there food intake. i ran a 5k on Thanksgiving morning that was crazy there were 10,000 people that ran that. i'm running 7 miles on saturday morning, and i'm going to run three half marathons in 2010, two of them are already paid for so i have just one more to register for. i'll write more coming up cause the hubby has two weeks off for Christmas break.

the ups and downs of life
so last week didn't go so well. i didn't really run except for almost 20 minutes at the gym on the treadmill. YUCK!!!! all of last week i was feeling discouraged and not supported so i just didn't have the will to even make myself run. it was lame but hopefully i'm past some of that stuff. i know i'm not it's life ups and downs. i just got done reading about tempo runs and i'm excited about that and i'm also really excited about getting new shoes and a heart rate watch. i have no clue when this will happen though. i'm probably going to wait until October. not because i wan to but because that's when we should have money to buy some shoes for me. the watch is just as important but more expensive than buying even two pairs of shoes. consistency is not my friend but needs to be
and it might not even be consistency for all i know it's discipline, but lets face it saying that you aren't disciplined is a hard comment to make about oneself. i believe that i am on my fifteenth or seventeenth week of training and have lost as of last time i weighed myself 15lbs. i'm very excited about that but i want to lose 25 more by the end of the year. definitely possible and i'm going to do it. i as of this week of training have picked up a third day of running, tuesday, thursday, and now saturday are my running days. i have been trying to get to do my runs with my friends that helps me do a better job, and is encouraging. i am a slow runner/jogger so anyone that does run with me usually keeps my pace or is just ahead of me about a car length or two. did i mention i have awesome running friends? and i'm going to get some blogging expertise help so my blog is more appealing.

two weeks in a row!!!
so i have accomplished running two weeks in a row for twenty minutes without stopping. i definitely made a foolish decision in the time i chose to run on Thursday. i decided to run in Escondido at 2:50 in the afternoon, yuck.... i felt like puking and thought i was going to pass out the whole time. i ran for twenty minutes off and on not continuously or anything like that, i was out for forty minutes and i only ran for twenty minutes. but i went for another run this morning with a friend and we ran for over twenty minutes it was awesome. i only stopped once to give my boy his apple to eat. well more to come, i'm going to San Francisco next week for a much awaited wedding. very excited.

no excuses, confessions of a pastors wife
so i have been praying about how to talk about and share with people what has been going on my personal life, and my families too. so i've decided to change my blogs name (if i can figure out how to do that). so i hopefully will start blogging more about more stuff. one thing i want to share today is that this is the ninth week i've been working out with my trainer, and the second week in a row that i am running one day in. and just for fun i weighed myself the other night and total i have lost ten pounds in the past nine weeks, that's a pound a week, i am so excited about that. and another big blessing is that my sister in law has been helping (basically doing it all) count calories for me. so for the past two weeks i have been trying to stick to 1800 calories a day and having small snacks in between my meals, which has been making me eat smaller meals. i think that has been the point the whole time i've been training. one more thing i will share is that i have been reading a book by Elizabeth George called A Woman After God's Own Heart. this book has been very helpful for me so far. i will get into specifics in another blog. my husband gets off early today so i have a twenty five minute run waiting for me still.
